Description

This document discusses the findings of a series of interviews that were conducted with 50 Aboriginal individuals living in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. The purpose of the interviews was to determine the perceptions of participants surrounding the quality and accessibility of health and social services in three urban centres throughout the valley. This study was conducted in response to the increased incidence of mortality and morbidity that is experienced by the Canadian Aboriginal population, and represents an attempt to address issues surrounding health and social service provision that act as determinants to overall well-being.
